WOYWW 217

Oh wow I have so missed joining in with woyww,  two weeks lol, one week no mojo and I had nothing on my desk, the second week no internet lol.  But all is good, it's great to be back lol.  Bet your wondering what I'm on about, why not pop on over to Julia's Blog and join in with What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, and show us all your crafty desks :-).  I shall be mega quick lol, this is my 3rd post of the day!!!

Was just tidying up after the two mini canvases, some mini
tags with samples of crackle products that I am
doing a tutorial for.
My craft room is a complete mess, I am trying to sort
it all out, trying to change bits around and now
it looks like a crafty explosion with stuff everywhere lol.
I really need to stop creating and start sorting!!!!

I shall show you two pictures of my other desk, as the
sewing machine manages to hide loads as you can see here lol

I broke my first sewing machine needle the other day,
scared me lol, I was doing a card for a magazine deadline
and I was sewing through a thick layer, normally it will
be fine but it broke, then I realised I was also sewing through the card
base at the back as well, oops another non open card :-)

Right I am definitely off now for today, shall be back tomorrow with a tutorial on Dylusion sprays :-).
Thank you so much for visiting, Hugs Kezzy xxxxx

Creative Studios - Wise Friend

Yep, back lol.  So for the other canvas (tutorial tomorrow) I wanted to enter the challenge over at Creative Studios by Sam Poole, it's a new challenge and the rules were anything goes but MUST use the Creative Expressions Wise Friend by Sam Poole.  I am a huge fan of her stamps, and I have loads, but guess what, not this one, so as a treat I bought it lol, I'm hoping next month it's one I own :-).  Now all the details of the background etc will be tomorrow.  For the owl I went to town and used lots of angel fibres and sheets to build him up.  I actually can't wait to make some more with him as I can see me using fabric, doing the whole steampunk look on metal, oooooo a shabby chic owl yep I do like him :-).

Ok the owl looks quite bland on this photo but the next
one is where the magic happens :-)

Right shall be off, back with another post soon, this time woyww lol :-) Hugs Kezzy xxxxx

Artistic Stamper - Ladies Day

Hi all, I have been mega busy doing some crafting, it's been great lol.  I had been asked to do an tutorial for a facebook page on Dylusion sprays, should it be with or without gesso, well you know me, I became really busy and have spent the last few days spraying Dylusions all over the place.  I should have the tutorial up on here tomorrow, it's so photo heavy.
So I had these pieces of decorated canvases, so I decided that with one of them I was going to do Ladies Day for the challenge over at the Artistic Stamper.  I have only recent found their challenge, and wow their stamps are gorgeous, I am so needing to invest alot, good job my birthday is coming up :-).  Remember if you like what you see, pop back tomorrow for the tutorial :-).

I love the sea, I used to have a caravan by
the sea, and I loved standing there, eyes
closed and letting the noise and the breeze wash over
me, it's so soothing.  I wanted the lady to be
vintage, almost an old photo, the sea
doesn't just see us today but has seen those
of gone by years :-)

Right I shall be back in a minute as I have another post, oh and then later I have a woyww post lol.  All the details of what I have used will be on the tutorial tomorrow :-)

Paperartsy - Darcy Inspiration

Hi all, just popping on to show a few bits I have been doing, which was inspired by Darcy Wilkinson over at Paperartsy.  This week she has absolutely amazed us all with her projects.  Not only did she do a party spread but also an awesome, out of this world Giraffe.  She also taught us to play with our Fresco paints and do some tags to show different colours and what goes together.
I have already been playing with tags and Fresco paint over a few months but I also did some more.  I have also played with Fresco crackle, also mixing grunge paste and 3D paint with the paints.

I also have been saving dried bits of paint as I would
love to make a journal page with them, I reckon
they will look so colourful and funky.

Right I shall be off, I really urge you to go visit and see what Darcy has done, she is a true artist, her work is amazing.  Hugs Kezzy xxxxx

Read It!!!!!

Hi all, this post should have been up on Sunday but I'm afraid we have had mega issues with internet and not quite sure I could manage on my phone lol, it would take ages.  We have had internet all day today so looks like NTL (which are something else now lol) have sorted the problem.  So a huge apology for not being about, lack of internet, had a lack of mojo also which I think has been due to the hot hot weather.  My craft room is upstairs and it's not too good when your pouring sweat over your work, fine if your using distress though!!!! lol lol.
So this fortnight over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog our challenge is It's a Girl thing and we are being sponsored by the awesome Kraftin Kimmie Stamps and the DT this week got our Kraftin Kimmie stamps out to play.  Now as you know I have been doing less cards but more mixed media and getting inky.  Well it was great to get my promarkers out again but of course I had to be a bit grungy lol.

I would like to enter my book into the following challenges
Kraftin Kimmie Challenge - Anything Goes
Anything Goes Challenge - Anything Goes

The lettering my daughter designed for me on the computer,
then I printed it out 3 times, two for the middle and shadow areas that
I cut out for masks and the 3rd to mask while I sprayed.  I did
make a mistake as the shadow on top of the E shouldn't be there lol.

This has now gone off to one of the DT members as she fell in love with it.  Initially I was going to bin it as I made a few mistakes I wasn't happy with lol.  Right I better go, it's so nice to have the internet back :-).  I missed it hugely but the kids, well you would think that their throat had been cut lol.  Now I am restricting them so they are not on it all the time!!!.  Hugs Kezzy xxxxx

Paperartsy Inspiration - Acetate

Wow I bet your wondering where I have been lol.  Obviously I had the healing process which now I'm feeling great, but during that time I had lack of mojo, then most of this week the internet went, seriously I so missed it lol.  So anyway I had a play this morning as I really was inspired by Carol Quance over at the Paperartsy Inspiration Blog, you really should nip on over there, her acetate card is amazing.

I inked up an embossing folder with fresco paints (all details below),
then embossed it and let it dry.  I stamped the flower with fresco paints onto
acetate, and then added glitter to the back for some sparkle.
I also stamped the scrip in white.  All the stamps and paint
are Paperartsy which are detailed at the bottom of the page :-)

Right I better go, it's great that my mojo and internet came back in time to play but the challenge is nearly over lol.  I shall be back later with another post for a DT project :-).  Thank you all for all your healing wishes and I am in the process now that I have internet, catching up with everyone.  Hugs Kezzy xxxxx

Summer Camp 2 - Eeek I have managed a card!!!

Hi all, I have took a class from Online Card Classes called Summer Camp 2, as I have huge problems trying to make cards since I started doing lots of tags, hangings, canvases etc.  I can do the cute cards with patterned papers but I wanted to do some stamping cards, getting inky style on cards.  Well I haven't been able to play along all week (started on Monday) as of course I have been resting after my back thingy.  But now I have managed to get into the craft room and have a go and Eeeek it took a whole day to do one card!!!! and it is a complete disaster lol.  Doesn't help that my sewing machine had a fit (I do believe it is a user mistake lol) but still it sort of ruined it.  But hey ho I thought I would show it lol.  Anyway we had the following colours and sketch to work with - can't show a picture as its in class but I used white, yellow, orange and dark pink (not that you would believe it lol).

The background was distress stains (recipe at bottom of page) using
mustard seed, picked raspberry, spiced marmalade and picket fence,
then added perfect pearls pearl.
Then I used Fresco snowflake paint with an Andy Skinner mask,
as I tried loads of ways of doing something to actually add another
stamped layer (don't get me wrong if I had got my patterned papers
out this would have been doing pretty quickly lol).  So the
masked area and doodles are that part of the sketch, and of course
you can see the sewing messes lol.

You can definitely see the yellow (just!!!)

Right I had better be off.  I have to admit its nice to be back creating at last, even though my craft room is in disarray seems I had the idea to start sorting it all just before my back procedure injections lol.
Think I need to get painty tomorrow, mind you I can't believe I'm back to work on Monday and I shall be able to drive again (the last four weeks I have been unable to drive so thank goodness to be able to get out into the world again lol).  Hope you all are having a nice weekend.  Lots of hugs :-) Kezzy xxxxx

WOYWW 214

Hi all, sorry I haven't been around much, and I can't believe I missed last weeks WOYWW (the amazing place where us crafters share our desks), but I just couldn't move with pain, it felt awful. I finally have had the injections in my back on Monday and now supposed to rest for 5 days.  I am feeling rough but today I had to try and get something done so I have been sorting through my ribbons.  My craft room is a mess from my daughter piling all the ribbon downstairs for me lol, the dining room has bags of ribbon all over the dining room table and my crochet plus colouring mediums all over the living room so yep I'm taking over the house.  I have wanted to sort my craft room for awhile and since I knew that summer was coming and because I had my injections I would be up and about I thought this was the ideal time to sort (probably not this early but it is sofa craft so I am resting!!!)
Yep all stuffed in bags from all over the place in
the craft room, I had 12 large glass jars, two carry bags and some
hanging off the side of the book shelve.  Some where still in packaging in
boxes as I didn't have room for them.  So it's now time to give them a new home.

Yep this is where they will be sorted and wrapped onto pieces of card,
two sections per drawer :-)
I reckon it is going to take some time!!!!!

Sofa crafting (oops I mean resting!!!).  The bags are were I have
been sorting some ribbons from the dining room into colour
co-ordinated bags, which means I can grab a bag in the evening and
sort them on pieces of card.  I reckon this will take some time
so sorting them in bags mean they can come off the dining room
table and be stored in the craft room.  It also means if I need some
ribbon I can just look in a bag.  As hopefully by the end of the week I can
be allowed in the craft room to do some crafting instead of relaxing lol.
I also have some crochet on the go and some colouring out :-)

This is how my desk looks, yep dumped on.  I was hoping to have cleared up
before Monday but it didn't happen so no worries.  Shall
tidy it up by the end of the week, well actually I mean dump bits in piles
to make it look neater until I have a home for things :-)

Three jars left to take away upstairs.  Our house has ground floor, floor 1 and floor 2,
so my craft room is on floor 2 but I need the jars to go up one floor to put
in the loft.  Daughter has finished her exams and is doing extra jobs
for money for summer so guess you know who was marching
up up the stairs as we call it lol

Right I'm off to bed, I have spent a few nights sleeping downstairs as I couldn't get up up stairs but tonight that's where I'm heading, good old bed so comfy.  But on the way I thought I would stop off and nip my computer on so I could share with you all.
I have so much of you to catch up on, I'm so sorry if you think I have been ignoring you all, but seriously just trying to live day to day and being morphined out, well I just haven't been able to catch up with you all.  I shall be visiting over the next few dates and seeing what you have all been up to.
Love you loads, lots of hugs, Kezzy xxxxx

Hello dylusion style!!!

Hi all, over at That Craft Place Challenge Blog the next fortnights challenge is Lace and/or Ribbon.  I would also like to enter my hook thingy!!! into the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show which is Anything Goes.

I started out with a wooden hook blank thingy (lol), I then added
lots of gesso giving lots of texture, then I added some patterned paper and
then more gesso.  I let this thoroughly dry.  Then I added lots
and lots of layers of Dylusion sprays.  I love the effect these sprays give
on gesso, especially if you layer and layer and layer drying in between.
The die cuts (all details at end of page) where given dylusion treatment
with bits of stamping.  I then made a flower out of lace, embellishment and
a flower of a strip of ribbon flowers, yep it had lots of dylusions on it as well lol.
Then bits of stamping plus a mask or two and voila all done :-)

Right I better be off, I'm having my injections in my back tomorrow, I get really nervous as it's done in an operating theatre and I get lots of horrible needles put in first yuk.  But hey good thing is I shall be back to running in a weeks time (not really running but walking normally without pain lol).  Not done much this week in the craft area apart from crochet as I have been really bad but all done tomorrow :-).
Lots of Hugs
Kezzy xxx
