WOYWW 143

Hi all, where has this week gone, a week of work panic I think lol.  Last Thursday they got THE call at work, Offsted was coming!!!  Anybody who hasn't heard of Offsted, it's a government body that checks schools, nurseries, basically all educational places.  You get visits every few years but never know when they will be coming and from last year they have bought in Admin and Financial checks for government funded children (in the UK 3-5 year olds get free nursery places for so many hours a week).  I am the financial manager there, I work mostly from home but as you can imagine I was stressing when the phone call came luckily these checks are given 5 days notice.  So my poor craft/office has more paper documents hanging around then patterned paper how awful is that lol.  Well they are coming Thursday early morning and ready or not it will be all over by Thursday evening.
Because of this I haven't managed to comment much, or craft for that matter, mind you last night and this evening (Tuesday) I have managed to play around with simple paper piecing and stamping, to basically destress lol.  I am scheduling this as I am in the office tomorrow until!!! well we were joking earlier saying that we will still be there when the lady comes Thursday morning lol.  I'm hoping to pop it on woyww before I go, hopefully I won't forget. Woyww you ask, is a fantastic weekly event that crafters all over the world participate in over at Julia's Blog where you will see some amazing desks messy and neat lol.
My desk this week is way too neat as I haven't crafted much but still not organised.  I really really really need to take some time in trying to sort out my stamps as those not in files I forget to use how bad is that lol.

The red card was put on a post this evening (Tuesday) and the blue was scheduled to just before this, so if you would like a look.
Happy woyww everyone, hope you have a fantastic week, hopefully I will get to see more this week.

Hi all, over at Delightful Challenges Blog the challenge this week is patterned paper.  The other day I found some origami papers that were patterned and decided to make a oriental theme card, I used up some red paper from stash (sorry not sure were from as in scrap box lol) and used some origami paper in pearl and gold.
I also stamped on patterned paper the girls outfit and the other oriental embellishments which I then cut out.  I also used the paper on the flowers.  I really enjoy paper piecing and haven't done it in awhile.  The card has been sprayed over oriental peel offs which were used like a mask.  I have also popped this on the shop blog That Craft Place where you can see other ideas with stamps, please have a visit it's new and we are trying to get others to see it and maybe follow.  Thanks for looking :-) Kezzy xxx

WOYWW 142

Hi all, Oh my I forgot it was Wednesday, I have just posted my showcase for my DT which I should do in the morning lol.  I shall make it super quick again this week, I have 4 pics for you, first as usual the dumping desk, the second what I'm in the middle of,  third my floor which still hasn't been sorted.  The fourth one is from my friends daughter who is 12 and she loves art.  Awhile ago I did a art piece for a challenge on wax (to view see here) and I explained to my mate that under all the papers etc was thoughts and feelings I had but no one can see them, my mate asked if I could do one for her daughters room but could she do the secrets and I said yes of course, but I had Jess over instead for two days to do it herself and wow I am so inspired by her, I did nothing she did it all, I just shown her how to do things on scrap paper.  Also this means that her secrets, problems etc is all hidden away and when she sees the art on her wall, at least she can feel that maybe it carries the burden instead.
My blog has been quiet because of half term and no mojo, but as you can see from my desk he's back and I'm inspired again (my mojo is definitely a man unreliable lol).

Right I shall go, I really want to carry on crafting, I have all evening just me, ink and stamps, oops forgot to mention that if your wondering about woyww pop on over to Julia's Blog and have a nosy at some awesome desks.  Hopefully I might get back here to post the card I'm doing lol.  Thanks for sharing, happy woyww :-)  Hugs Kezzy xxx

Quixotic - Sketch

Hi all, talk about leaving this late, its been on all month and finishes in 2hrs lol, I'm taking about the challenge over at Quixotic Paperie which is the sketch below.  I fancied doing a bit of colouring and noticed this sketch I printed of awhile ago.  Wow I now realise why I have only used my polychromos when colouring snowmen or animals/birds as I really found colouring the skin really difficult and feel I have made a mess of it, especially when I use a brown pen to highlight the brow which I thought was permanent, and yep you guessed it, the pen didn't dry quickly, I decided to blend more and next thing I know I had brown ink everywhere doh!!! so I ended up going over it all in ivory trying to get rid of it lol.  Any body who uses these Faber Castell pencils and would like to send me some advice for skin, I certainly would appreciate it, I have the full set which I think makes it more difficult, too much to choose from.  Here is the sketch and card.....................

Right I better stop the talking and get and post this so I can add it to the challenge, you know what I'm like I could waffle on and on and on lol lol.  Thanks for looking. Kezzy xxx

Finished necklace at last!!!

Hi all, hope your all having a nice crafty weekend. Just a quick post to show the necklace I have been doing all week, I have to admit I'm happy it's finished and I can get back into my crafty room to CRAFT with stamps and paper lol.  Before I show pick I also want to tell you that I forgot to put the recipe for yesterdays post, so I have edited it and now it's there, I like everyone to know what I have used in case you wanted to buy the image, papers etc also it's amazing how much you use in one project, I mean you probably wouldn't realise that I used coloured UTEE on the fish bowl at the bottom mixed with micro beads!!!, at the moment I really love adding texture to stamped or digi stamped images to make the pop.

and my sister wearing it (she wouldn't let me take full pic of her as she hadn't got her make up on!!!)

You can tell I asked her to put it back on so I could take a pic, as its lopsided a bit lol.  I have spent the day sorting some bits out in my crafty room and now I'm off to eat a Sunday dinner and then watch TV, I was going to come back up to the craft room and craft but I decided to have an evening off (ok I need to watch bits I've taped on sky+ as it wont tape anything else lol).  Hope you have a fantastic evening.  Thanks for looking. Kezzy xxx

Less is more - Aqua

Hi all, I know I really should be finishing off the bollywood necklace my sister has asked for the party she is going to tomorrow night, and I so haven't got any were near finishing it yet, so I guess you know what I'm doing for the rest of the day lol. Late last night and this morning I was finishing of my DT cards and it was great playing with paper and stamps again so I couldn't resist on doing a quick card for Less is more which the challenge is use Aqua.  I will be honest though, you can tell it was quick as I noticed when I took the pick that I had a kink in the ribbon and fibres sprouting out!!! Also the thank you is floating in the middle of nowhere, this is because I had done everything and was trying to see where a thank you would look good, but I used my thicker stamp block and yep it stamped before I could move it somewhere else, but I hadn't got time to do it again lol. My card .....................

That sentiment is embarrassing and the kink makes the card look bent lol, it's great to be able to share mistakes.  Shannon is looking really well and she is smiling alot more, so this diet is really helping her ceoliac disease.  Thanks for looking.  Kezzy xxx

Recipe
Stamps - Paperartsy (squiggly minis 11) and Lavinia Stamps
Inkpads - Archival (aquamarine) and Adirondack (aqua) and versamark
Wow embossing powder
Ribbon from stash

WOYWW 140 AND CANDY WINNER

Hi all, candy winner today but I shall reveal all later on in the post.  So I'm afraid I haven't had much time to catch up with everyone's blog and my blog has been rather quiet this last week, this is because as you know my daughter was diagnosed by the GP having ceoliac disease, well we went to see a specialist on Friday who thankfully was able to diagnose from the blood results so she didn't need a biopsy.  Well what I didn't realise is that Shannon (15) didn't believe she had it, so Friday was a big shock, and well we have had tears, refusing to eat, her life is over, sleeping all day, refusing to go to school and to top it off, her not eating but still being ill with it made her poorly, so I have spent all my time, spending time with her, buying different bits to try, looking at recipes, watching tv and at last, yesterday evening she went on her computer to chat to mates and is back at school today, I shall stop there as it really has upset me.
On a brighter note, my desk is full of jewellery, yep my sister changed her mind and I had to order the bits which came Monday and start trying to bead late in the evening while Shannon was asleep lol.  My desk......
The gems were out last night as my sister popped up and she was wanting ideas, and she thought about putting gems on shoes.
As you can see, lots of beads and findings, the top left is an inspiration picture of what she wants (is she real!!!) and on my desk is the amber cabochons I have just finished beading.
I really really want/need to play with stamps, inks and paper at the moment, and I'm really missing it, but as you can imagine the party is Saturday and I need to get this done, mind you I have my DT cards to do by tomorrow night so I shall get to play a little lol.  I don't know about you but when stress is at it's highest then I love to hide and forget in a pile of craft stash so I have promised myself that this weekend when the jewellery is done, I shall be doing craft craft craft, so I shall get to play in some challenges lol.
CANDY
Now that was a bit of hell sorting out, I spent some time writing names and numbers down ........
this was last night as I normally post just before bed, but then I went on the random thingy site and spent an hour playing with changing colours etc to match my blog but then it wouldn't come on here, well I spent another hour doing everything possible and in the end I got a tired (as just before bed) explain why to me before my computer was physically thrown out the window, so off he went on a blah blah blah trying to explain HTLM or HTML goodness knows, at that stage I didn't want to know how I just wanted him to do it, but according to him I can't so I went to bed before hitting my computer or him lol.  So here is a photo of my lovely matching my blog random thingy and the number is.........................
now don't you think that it matches my blog, I didn't even write down the colour combination to do it again doh :-) so the winner is number 22 .....
which is Lisa, I shall go and email her to say she has won, I believe she lives in UK and her website is gorgeous (just has a peek) so if you want to congratulate her or be green with envy lol her blog is http://the-craft-garden.blogspot.com/, I did have two Lisa's but did check with numbers and it's definitely this Lisa lol. Wow how confusing is that.
Right I better go, just three more bits, one, while I was trying to get random on I was trying to get it via gadgets and look on my side bar I'm posh I have an email thingy saying when I have posted lol, two, if you want to check out some wonderful blogs hop on over to Julia's blog and three Nikki from http://graphixanddesign.blogspot.com/ does woyww blinkies and I have found the blinkie for mem WOYWW a very long long long long post!!!!! I shall leave you now, thanks to everyone who commented and posted about my candy and a big hello to all my new followers.  Lots of crafty hugs Kezzy xxx

WOYWW 139

Hi all, how are you?  I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who sent my way some lovely comments about my daughter and her new diagnosis of ceoliac disease, I certainly feel alot better hearing all your wonderful stories and feel confident that she will be able to live normally and healthy.  Also just letting you know that the dog is alot better and the blood results came back fine and me, well obviously I can't help the pain at the moment but sharing with my crafty friends really help and also makes me realise that I'm really lucky that I have craft in my life.
Blog Candy - I hope you all don't mind but I have added another week on the my blog candy, if you already commented last week you will be included and if you comment on this week woyww you will be included twice :-), I decided to give it another week as I realised that I hadn't shown my other followers that don't join woyww that I had blog candy so now it sits as first post for the next week, so anyone commenting on there will also be included, also I didn't get manage to get around everyone in woyww to tell them all about it.
My sister has been wanting me to make bollywood style jewellery for a party, so after spending loads of time searching and planning, I was on the bead site just about to order £30 worth of beads for delivery tomorrow as she wants it in a week and a half, when she phoned and told me to hold fire as she doesn't want to go anymore as she is not happy about what table she is sitting at!!!!!  Thank goodness I didn't order them, I' a bit upset as I was looking forward to the piece I had decided to do and already had spent £22 on bits for it, but you know sisters lol, I love her to bits and I bet she ends up changing her mind about 3 days before lol.
So my desk this week, a card I was working on that I think I ruined with too many butterfly's lol and on the other desk a pile of stamps that I'm going to use for less is more sketch challenge, and also a pile of stamps from banana frog that has closed down now and I got stamps for £2.50 a set bargain, and some I have won giveaways from magazines and a few that I bought when I was buying candy, I really need to sort them all, it's like all the ones you saw last week in a pile, new stamps from Christmas that I'm not using as I haven't filed them so I keep forgetting them how bad is that lol.
The pic on the side is a card I was casing for the Just Add Kathy challenge and all together I found 14 butterfly's in punches and dies lol, but non seemed the right size lol.
If your wondering what I'm harping on about press the woyww button on the sidebar and be transported to Julias blog and join in with whats on your workdesk Wednesday, I would certainly encourage anybody to have a go, I started here a year ago when I first started my blog and it's through here that I met some wonderful people.  Also Julia is famous, her blog is in the Craft Stamper magazine this month :-) a big congrats to Julia.
Right I'm off as I need to nip into the office at work and pick up the wage sheets, they really get funny if I don't pay the staff lol, mind you I'm included in that staff so I make sure they are paid every week lol lol.
Hope you all have a fantastic crafty week.  Lots of Hugs Kezzy xxx
