Mojo Monthly October

Hi, I'm afraid I'm late again for mojo monthly over at Sarah's Blog, this month was book covers and I had some fab ideas, but as you all know, illness has taken most of my October.  I am half way through doing a book that opens to reveal somewhere to store bits and bobs which I'm planning to finish, the best thing is, it looks just like a book but has hidden treasures within, I'm planning to give my PA at work it, so she can keep it on her desk.  I have managed to finish my book cover clock for my dad.  It took ages and many charity shops to find the cover I wanted, I then added stamping, working clock mechanism and some paint (recipe below).  The best thing is the clock back is hidden inside the book so it stands up fantastic or can be put on the wall.
Thank you for sharing. Kezzy xxx

Recipe
Book - from charity shop
Stamps - Paper artsy (clocks 5 and words 4), Hot off the press (alphabet), Creative expressions (vintage typewriter)
Paint - Paper artsy (fresco snowflake)
Colorwash - Adirondack (stream)
Inkpad - Archival (jet black)
Clock - Paper artsy

Woyww 125

Hi ya, if you would like to see some super duper desks then fly on over to Julias blog and whiz round some fantastic yummy crafty stash filled desks.  I would like to thank everybody who gave me some lovely get well soon comments and I gave me some great advice.  I'm still suffering from tinnitus and blocked tubes, but the virus part has mostly gone so feeling lots and lots better, definitely more human.  Just starting to be able to craft again, so on my desk is a Halloween card I'm just about to start,

The next two pics show my progress putting all those mounted stamps onto laminated sheets and recording them into files.
and under the desk

I would also like to welcome my new followers.  I didn't seem to get around loads of people this week because I couldn't stop at looking at there woyww post, I then had to find out what else everyone was doing lol.  Hope you all have a fantastic crafty week, Happy Halloween for next Monday and see you all next week on woyww, and hoping to see you in the week to with some crafty posts. Less is more - Cocktail

Hi, over at Less is more this week the challenge is cocktail, now I wasn't sure if you had to use stamps for these challenges but I believe you don't, but as it is I'm really trying to learn stamping and colouring as I am quite a beginner.  I looked everywhere in my hundreds of stamps and I hadn't got one, so I had the idea of searching for cocktail names, now obviously I kept away from 'sex on the beach' and 'orgasm' lol.  I did find ROSE which uses (just in case you want to try it) 45mls dry vermouth, 15mls kirsh and 10mls cherry brandy, mix all and add to a chilled glass, garnish and serve, this is a IBA (international bartenders associate official cocktails) specified drink, I didn't even know that there was an official cocktail list.  So my card .......
I'm not happy with it as I used water colouring pencils and then brush markers but the leaves didn't go right so bin fodder it is, but the best thing about challenges, is you learn as you go along so if some need to go into the bin it doesn't matter as it's a practise session.  I would have done it again but as you can see I'm quite late so need to hurry up and add to the challenge lol.  Thanks for sharing.  Kezzy xxx

Recipe
Waterpaper cardstock
Stamps - Autumn Leaves - word flourishes (sentiment), Elusive Images - harlequin rose (rose and border)
Colouring Mediums - Derwent water pencils and Whispers brush markers
Ink pads - Versafine onyx blank and Archival jet black

WOYWW 124

Hi to all woyww's out there, if you would like to snoop around some fantastic desks jump on over to Julia's Blog.  I'm afraid I haven't got too much to offer, as last Thursday - Saturday I kept feeling dizzy as if I was on a different planet (which normally I am in my own little world), then from Saturday onwards I have had constant drone in my ear. Monday I went to see the docs thinking I'm going mad as I was hearing this noise (luckily not voices) and basically I have a virus (like cold symptoms throat, nose etc) which has gave me Labyrinthistis and blocked Eustachian tube (the laby whatever is inflammation of the inner ear which gives you vertigo and tinnitus and blocked tube gives you popping noises and tinnitus).  To be honest I have had a very very, touch wood in all the house, mild version of the labyrinthistis as reading up on it, says some people it can give really bad vertigo for years.  So as you can imagine crafting has been a bit lack of, (I kept away from anything pointy as I might stab my ear with it lol).  I feel very sorry and have huge respect for people living with tinnitus full time.
OK definitely finished with the sicky icky bits lol.

I have been playing around with my cricut hooked up to my computer so I can try cutting other svg's which I bought from my time made easy using sure cuts a lot, I also bought digi papers from there in black and white which I have been colouring on the computer (purple and orange for halloween).
I have got crimbo bits out so I could try and get some inspiration, I'm loving the Molly Blooms I got, the box to your left is full of embellishments made from card/chipboard etc and the trays are full of fabric, metal, plastics, felt and wooden embellishments, to the left is the new stampin up stamps I just received and at the back are some new paper pads for crimbo and my crimbo ribbon jar which I raided to match bits up.  So no real crafting been done, just alot of playing.
Hope you all have a healthy crafty week, I would like to say a bit hello to a new follower HELLO.  Thanks for sharing. Kezzy xxx

WOYWW 123

Good morning, it's Wednesday again and its time to fly over to Julia's blog, to participate in the biggest worldwide desk sharing weekly event.  I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who wished me well last week.  I'm just about getting over it and can't wait to catch up with crafting.  The good news the procedure seems to be working and I have no pain in my legs, my back though is still hurting, but who cares, I can walk without the crutch and can't wait to go out and walk walk walk.  To be honest I don't think its going to help my back that much, it didn't in March but it did give me 6 weeks of pain free legs so I feel blessed at being able to do that.

So my desk hasn't changed that much except I did do some sofa craft of putting my unmounted stamps on mount and going through my promarkers seeing which colours blend well together so what you see on my desk is where they have been dumped by the kids when I asked them to bring them upstairs lol.
and the pic below is where I put my promarkers, I was going to put them away but didn't still feel too great
Had a better sleep last night, the night before my 10 year old dog Jasmine (alsation cross labrador) wouldn't stop going for a pee, in the end I let poor OH go to bed as he had work and I was still on sick leave, and ended up having to leave the door open all night and me on sofa, I kept thinking someone was going to come in and the wind was blowing, but before OH went to bed we tried closing it, but she wanted to go out 14 times in 35 mins. Bless her alnight she kept coming to me wining as she was knackered. Anyway OH took said dog to vets yesterday morning and voila she has cystitis, I never thought dogs could get that.  Last night the medication was working so I got better sleep.
One thing I love about blogging is being able to share with everyone and it makes me feel good.  At the beginning of August I found 2 rocking horse charms and couldn't help but buy them as I knew that Bleubeard and Elizabeth collected them.  I contacted her and asked if she minded if my rocking horses could join its family over with her and arranged to send them.  She was lovely and kept letting me know that they hadn't arrived and to be honest I thought they had got lost in the post, so ever since September I have continued to go to the garden centre where I got them and over the last 5 times I have nipped in they haven't had any.  But Monday night I got a beautiful message from her saying they had arrived (one minus a head!), and she told me how grateful and how it has made her feel happy.  That message is the best feeling I had, its sometimes those little things mean more than lots of money etc.  They wasn't expensive just 50p each and it was the first time I had sent abroad so sent it mega snail pace and only paid £1.80 (thinking it would be there in a week lol).  Nowadays £2.30 wouldn't even get you a box of chocolates, but I feel that I have sent over flowers, chocolates and a hug to her by this little thought and feel fantastic for it.  I'm not saying that I go out buying things, I'm just trying to express that a card you have made or a hug or phone call can go a long way and make someone feel great.  She is showing them on her blog today so if you would like to meet the newest members of the family nip on over there on the link above.
Thank you so much for sharing, I'm sorry I have woffled on but it was so nice to chat to everyone out there seems I've been away from it all for a week.  Hope you all have a fab crafty week.  Kezzy xxx

WOYWW 122

Hi to all, this week I shall be quick as I am off to have more steroids and a different procedure on my back so I shall be laid up for a few days, benefits of this will be that I get to relax on sofa and see all those wonderful desks over at Julia's blog on my ipad equivalent thingy, which is good as I didn't get to visit alot this week as I have been working alot so I can have peace for a week. (thought I better put a full stop in somewhere so you can breathe lol).  This is my desk as of yesterday evening the before and the after, thought I'd I better have a clean up.  I'm hoping to be back to crafting in a few days, but if it was up to my partner he will have tied me to the sofa until the amount of time the hospital says to rest lol.

Before picks
I managed to finish a card which you could guess by the colours were mustard, red and black, I shall show the card when I take a pic and the other is yet another dumping ground lol.
After pics

Ooooooo I'm so proud all nice and clean to mess up again in a few days, it actually feels rather refreshing.

Hope you all have a fab crafty week.  Thanks for sharing. Kezzy xxx
